About this template

Payment Order – Application Supporting Material & B2B Debt Register is a digital working material for Swedish companies preparing a monetary claim before a possible application to the Swedish Enforcement Authority. You get editable Word templates, searchable PDF versions, and an Excel register with nine tabs for debts, payments, evidence, and processing events.

Important: The documents are not the Swedish Enforcement Authority's official application form and do not submit an application. The actual application is made through the Swedish Enforcement Authority's e-service or official form. The templates only support preparation and internal quality control.

When do you need application supporting material?

When a company wants to organize a claim for an unpaid invoice, an overdue repayment, or another overdue monetary claim, before the company decides whether a payment order is the correct procedure. Check in particular that the debt concerns money, has fallen due, and is such that settlement is permitted. Claims that have already been paid, credited, or obviously lack grounds should not be treated as new debts.

01. Package Contents

15 customer files: 7 editable Word documents (.docx), 7 corresponding searchable and printable PDF files, and 1 Excel workbook (.xlsx) with nine tabs. The operational documents are in Swedish, and an English User Guide is included. The PDF files are not interactive official forms.

02. What the Files Contain

Preparatory application details, debt specification for capital and possible interest/cost items, documentation of the basis of the debt, evidence log, legal and factual check, logbook for the Swedish Enforcement Authority's actual notices, and Excel for cases, payments, costs, evidence, and internal processing.

Excel – Nine Tabs

Dashboard, Cases, Debts, Payments, Costs, Supporting Material, Checks, Processing, and Read Me. Excel summarizes entered capital amounts and verified payments and shows an administrative balance. A registered status or an amount in Excel does not mean that the Swedish Enforcement Authority has received the application, that the claim is legally established, or that money can be collected.

The workbook does not calculate interest, prescription, permitted collection costs, official fees, or legal compensation. These must be assessed and handled separately.

Practical Workflow – From Invoice to Application Preparation

  1. Check whether the debt actually exists, is overdue, and can be subject to a payment order.
  2. Identify the correct applicant and respondent, with verified names and identity details.
  3. Specify the claim and the basis of the debt, including the invoice, agreement, due date, and any partial payments.
  4. Assess interest and costs separately, without assuming that each charge is permitted.
  5. Document known objections and double-check that the debt has not been paid or credited.
  6. Use only the Swedish Enforcement Authority's official application channel to apply.
  7. Follow the authority's actual notices, supplementations, possible objections, and decisions.

Legal: Act on Payment Orders and Enforcement

Act (1990:746) on Payment Orders and Enforcement contains the conditions for a payment order. According to Section 2, it basically applies to an overdue monetary claim where settlement is permitted. According to Sections 10–11, the application must state the claim, basis, amount of the debt, due date, and claimed interest. Other provisions regulate parties, costs, objections, and processing.

Also check the Swedish Enforcement Authority's own guidance for the application and clear description of the debt. An objection or other procedural objection may mean that the case cannot be concluded through a regular ruling and that court review needs to be considered. An application prepared in Word or Excel has no independent official value.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Can I send the Word template directly to the Swedish Enforcement Authority as the application?

No. The Word and PDF documents are preparatory working materials. Use the Swedish Enforcement Authority's e-service or official form and follow their current instructions for the application itself.

What debt can the application concern?

In principle, a monetary claim that is overdue and where settlement is permitted, according to Section 2 of Act (1990:746). Check the concrete nature of the debt, any objections, and special forum rules.

Is an unpaid invoice sufficient?

Not necessarily. Check the agreement, what was delivered, the correct debtor, due date, partial payments, and possible objections. The existence of the invoice does not automatically establish the claim.

Are interest calculation and official fees included automatically?

No. Interest, start date, and legal basis must be assessed separately. Check the current official fee directly with the Swedish Enforcement Authority; the package does not contain a fixed fee rate.

What happens if the other party objects?

The further handling of the application depends on how and when the objection is made. A request for referral to the district court may become relevant according to Sections 33–35. Follow the Swedish Enforcement Authority's concrete notices and deadlines.

Is a ruling the same as getting paid?

No. A ruling, enforcement, and actual payment are different events. The Excel register therefore keeps these administrative steps separate.
