About this template
Has the computer repair shop made an incorrect repair, have files disappeared after service, has the computer not been returned on time, or have you received an unexpected invoice? The package helps you as a private individual in Sweden to make a complaint about a separately ordered computer repair, gather factual evidence, request an investigation, and follow up on an invoice or a possible claim for compensation.
Quick answer: Contains five Swedish working documents, a Swedish user guide and an English User Guide, all in both editable Word (DOCX) and searchable/printable PDF without interactive form fields. In addition, a Swedish-language Excel workbook with nine tabs and 574 formulas is included. Total 7 independent documents × 2 formats + 1 Excel = 15 customer files. Digital ZIP delivery after separate manual publication and file linking.
01 · Package contents
Five Swedish working templates, a Swedish user guide and an English instruction guide. Each document is provided as a DOCX and a corresponding searchable PDF. In addition, a Swedish-language Excel workbook. 7 DOCX + 7 PDF + 1 XLSX = 15 files. The PDF versions are formatted copies, not seven additional legal templates.
02 · What the files contain
Complaint letter for errors after repair, investigation letter for suspected data loss or damage, timeline and request for delayed return, specified invoice objection, and neutral submission protocol. The guides provide step-by-step instructions. The Excel workbook keeps the requested, offered, approved, and actually received amounts separate.
What type of computer issue can I handle?
1. The computer still does not work after repair. For example, you ordered a storage device replacement or troubleshooting of a startup issue, and the result does not match what was agreed. Template 01 helps you describe the order, observations, and request a professional inspection – not to establish a technical cause without evidence.
2. Files or photos are missing after the workshop work. Template 02 collects information about any backups, information before reinstallation, and actual financial additional costs. Data loss does not automatically result in compensation or the right to full restoration. An individual assessment of the agreement, information, sequence of events, liability, and proven damage is required.
3. The computer is not returned at the agreed time. Template 03 makes it easier to request a concrete timeline and obtain written documentation of the work status. Delay is not the same as proven permanent loss.
4. The invoice contains unexpected additions. Template 04 helps you request an itemized bill and object to specific items for troubleshooting, spare parts, labor time, or other additions. Compare what you actually agreed to with what the workshop charges.
Choose another basis if you instead want to complain about a newly purchased computer to the seller or a repair performed to remedy defects in a purchase agreement. In that case, the Consumer Sales Act and the seller's liability may be central. This package is also not a technical troubleshooting manual or a contract basis for business customers.

Excel – nine tabs and 574 administrative formulas
The workbook contains Overview, Cases, Units, Work Order, Errors and Data, Claims, Contacts, Actions, and Read Me. The tabs have their own fields for orders, masked unit identification, dates, price information, invoice items, backup status, attachments, action status, and communication. An empty customer file shows 0 cases and 0 SEK; no sample customers are filled in.
Fictional example of how the formulas work: 800 SEK in requested price reduction and 200 SEK in requested proven additional cost gives 1,000 SEK REQUESTED. 600 SEK offered, 500 SEK documented approved, and 250 SEK actually received are in separate fields; 250 SEK remain administratively of the approved amount. This is not a determined compensation. An invoice of 1,200 SEK against 1,000 SEK in approximate price information gives a control signal, not an automatic legal conclusion.
Data protection: Do not fill in passwords, PINs, full serial numbers, recovery keys, BankID details, or sensitive file content. Excel does not determine legal deadlines, compensation liability, or actual data recovery.
How to use the document package
- Collect the repair order, receipt, price information, invoice, submission receipt, and previous correspondence.
- Choose the working letter depending on whether the issue concerns performance errors, damage/data loss, delay, or invoice.
- Fill in the DOCX, cross out inapplicable options, and check every date, factual information, and amount.
- Separate what you can observe from technical causes that have not yet been investigated.
- Send factually and with tracking; archive the proof of dispatch and the company's actual response separately.
- Follow up in Excel with separate amounts for your own claims, offers, written agreement, and actual payment.
Legal prerequisites in Sweden
A standalone service where a business operator repairs a private individual's existing computer is normally covered by the Consumer Services Act (1985:716) (Section 1). The work must be performed professionally (Section 4). Rules on errors and consequences are found, among others, in Sections 9 and 16–23, delay in Sections 24–31, and price/itemized bill in Sections 36–41. Repair performed to fulfill an agreement on a purchase may fall outside the Consumer Services Act (Section 2).
Complaint period: Complain about an alleged error within a reasonable time after it was discovered or should have been discovered. A complaint within two months after discovery is always in time. For work on a movable item, the latest limit is normally three years after the completed assignment, with the exceptions of the law (Section 17). Excel does not calculate legal deadlines.
Price: Fixed price, approximate price, and ongoing price have different starting points. With an approximate price, the amount may not exceed by more than 15 percent as a general rule, unless another agreed price limit or legal basis for a price addition exists (Sections 36 and 38). The right to an itemized bill follows from Section 40 and can in some cases affect the time of payment according to Section 41. A written questioning does not create a general right to refuse to pay the entire invoice.
Data loss and consequential damages: That data is missing or the computer gets an error after service does not alone prove that the workshop is liable. Backup is recommended before submission when possible. The Swedish Consumer Agency points out that the company generally cannot guarantee that all content remains after repair. Any financial claims require an individual assessment of causation, liability, and proven loss. No guarantees are given about data recovery.
Frequently asked questions
Can I complain about an incorrect SSD, motherboard, or screen repair?
Yes, an actual error in a separately ordered computer repair can be complained about according to the Consumer Services Act. Document what was agreed, what symptoms you observed, and when. The technical cause may need to be investigated.
Can I claim compensation for lost documents and photos?
You can request an investigation and report any proven financial costs. Lost files, however, do not automatically give the right to restoration or a certain compensation; personal sentimental value is not automatically a financial claim.
What happens if the computer is not returned on time?
Document the agreed time, actual messages, and consequences of the delay. The right to demand fulfillment, rescission, or compensation requires special prerequisites according to law and agreement.
Can the workshop charge for troubleshooting or additions that I did not order?
It depends on the price agreement, what information was given, and applicable rules on additional work. Request an itemized bill and object to exactly the items you consider incorrect.
Are the PDF files interactively fillable?
No, the PDF files are searchable and printable but lack interactive form fields. Use the DOCX files to edit the document.
Are the complaint letters available in English?
No. The five working documents and Excel are in Swedish. Only the separate English User Guide contains English instructions.
Are the files externally legally reviewed?
No. AI-assisted legal source control has been carried out, but no independent external legal review, workshop inspection, or authority certification has been carried out.
