About this template
Has a mobile repair shop replaced the screen or battery, but the phone still does not work as agreed, or have you received an unexpected invoice? This document package helps private individuals in Sweden write a factual complaint, request an investigation into damage or suspected data loss, follow up on delayed delivery, and document a specific claim for compensation or price adjustment.
Quick facts: Five Swedish working documents, a Swedish user guide, and an English User Guide – each document available as both an editable DOCX and a searchable, printable PDF without interactive form fields. Also included is a Swedish Excel workbook with nine tabs. 7 independent documents in two formats + 1 XLSX = 15 customer files. Swedish consumer law, document version 1.0. Digital ZIP delivery only after separate manual activation.
01 · Package contents
Five Swedish working templates, a Swedish user guide, and an English instruction guide = seven different documents. Each document is provided in both DOCX and a corresponding searchable PDF. A Swedish Excel workbook (.xlsx) is also included. 7 DOCX + 7 PDF + 1 XLSX = 15 customer files. The PDF files are corresponding format versions, not seven additional legal templates.
02 · What the files contain
Complaint after screen or battery replacement, separate request for investigation in case of physical damage or suspected data loss, follow-up on a delayed phone, specified invoice and price objection, as well as submission and evidence logs. The guides explain the workflow and legal limitations; the Excel workbook keeps the requested, offered, written approval, and actually received amounts separate.
Choose the right template for your situation
Example 1 – screen replacement: The touch function does not work after a replacement you ordered yourself. Start with document 01 and state what was agreed, when the fault was discovered, and what tests were actually performed. Example 2 – battery replacement: The repair shop replaced the battery, but the phone shuts down unexpectedly. Document the symptoms and have a professional assess the safety in case of swelling or overheating, for example.
Example 3 – lost photos: Photos are missing after the repair. Use document 02 to request an investigation into the backup status, warnings, and any possible connection to the work – not to automatically claim a specific amount. Example 4 – extra invoice item: The repairer has charged for parts you do not recognize. Use document 04 for itemized billing and a precise objection.
Choose a different basis if the fault concerns a newly purchased phone and your claim is directed at the seller under the Consumer Sales Act, or if the dispute concerns a mobile subscription, corporate agreement, warranty under a different legal relationship, or an insurance claim unrelated to repair work.

Excel with nine tabs and 210 formulas
The workbook contains Overview, Cases, Devices, Work Orders, Faults and Damage, Claims, Contacts, Actions, and Read Me. For cases, there is space for your own IDs, work orders, masked device references, before/after tests, dates, attachments, and written notices. Due dates or complaint deadlines are not calculated automatically. You should never enter PINs, passwords, account codes, or full IMEIs.
Calculation example: 600 SEK in the requested remedy amount and 250 SEK in a separate, actually substantiated additional cost shows 850 SEK CLAIMED. The amount is not legally decided, approved by the repair shop, or paid out. These statuses have their own columns. The formulas are administrative and do not determine liability, safety, damages, or data value.
How to use the templates
- Collect the receipt, work order, agreed price, any additions, phone model, and concrete information about condition and function before/after.
- Choose a relevant working document. Fill in the DOCX and remove irrelevant options and empty draft passages.
- Describe what you observed without assuming a technical cause or the repair shop's liability before this has been investigated.
- State the desired action and basis for any financial claim. Separate the repair price from physical damage and substantiated consequential costs.
- Send factually and with tracking; save the proof of dispatch and the actual response separately.
- Follow up on the repair shop's investigation, offered remedies, written approvals, and actual payment without mixing them up.
Legal basis under Swedish law
A standalone mobile repair ordered by a private individual from a business is normally covered by the Consumer Services Act (1985:716). The repair shop must work professionally and with due care (e.g. Section 4). Faults are covered in Sections 9 and 16–23, delays in Sections 24–31, damages under special conditions, and price in Sections 36–40. The Swedish Consumer Agency specifically describes mobile screen repair as an example of a repair service.
Complaint deadline: The customer must complain about the fault within a reasonable time from when the fault was discovered or should have been discovered. A complaint within two months of discovery is always within the correct time. For the repair of a movable item, a final limit of three years from the completion of the assignment normally applies, with exceptions (Section 17). According to the general rule in Section 36, an approximate price indication may not be exceeded by more than 15 percent, but an agreed other price limit or a legal price addition under Section 38 may affect the assessment.
Important limitations: The fact that a phone stops working after repair does not alone prove that the repair shop caused the fault. The customer's information about lost photos or files does not automatically entitle them to financial compensation or a fixed damages amount. The right to remedy, price reduction, rescission, damages, or payment withholding must be assessed based on the respective legal rule and actual evidence. Do not use or charge a phone with a suspected swollen/overheated battery before a professional has checked it.
Supplementary documents for later disputes
If the complaint later turns into an actual debt collection claim, Contesting a debt collection claim – objection letter and evidence log may become relevant. For a separate consumer dispute with claims and attachments, there is ARN application – consumer dispute and evidence. These documents do not replace the complaint letter to the repair shop.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I complain about an incorrect screen replacement?
Yes, if the mobile repair shop's work is actually incorrect, you can complain about the purchased service under the Consumer Services Act. Document the agreed work, observed fault, and when it was discovered.
Can I complain about a battery replacement that does not work?
Yes, a fault in the repair service itself can be complained about. Symptoms such as overheating require caution and may need a professional technical check. The template does not determine the technical cause.
Do I have the right to a new phone if the repair shop damaged my old one?
Not automatically. Legal consequences, liability, and possible financial damages must be investigated and cannot be determined solely based on the phone's historical purchase price.
Can I claim money for lost photographs?
You can request a factual investigation into data loss, preliminary information, and documented additional costs. Personal sentimental value does not automatically result in a determined financial claim.
Can the repair shop charge more than its price quote?
It depends on whether the price was fixed or approximate, the agreement, and whether legally permitted additional work occurred. As a general rule, an approximate price indication may not be exceeded by more than 15 percent, with exceptions.
Are the PDF files digitally fillable?
No. They are searchable and printable but contain no interactive form fields. Edit in DOCX.
Are the complaint letters available in English?
No. The five working documents and Excel are in Swedish. Only the separate English User Guide is in English.
