About this template
Pressure Vessels & Expansion Vessels – Equipment Register, Inspection Monitoring and Service Log
Create a traceable, administrative overview of pressurized equipment in properties and businesses. The template package helps you document equipment and classification basis, inspection authority reports, expiry months, ongoing inspection, service and non-conformities. The same equipment ID follows the record from the installation card to the verified action.
15 ready-made customer files: 7 editable Word documents (DOCX), 7 corresponding searchable PDFs and one Excel workbook (XLSX) with nine tabs. Five Swedish work templates as well as Swedish and English user guides. Delivered as a ZIP when the product has been activated for digital download.
Package contents
Installation card, inspection plan, inspection log, service handover and non-conformities/re-inspection. Also included are a Swedish user guide and English User Guide, all in DOCX and PDF. An Excel workbook with nine tabs and 14 formula-based key metrics is included. Total 7 DOCX + 7 PDF + 1 XLSX.
What the files contain
Fields for verified pressure and volume data, fluid and any documented Class A/B, inspection authority report ID, actual expiry month, inspections, service orders, actual performance, operational decisions and verified re-inspection. No automated legal classification or pressure testing.

Excel tool with nine tabs
Overview, Installations, Classification Basis, Inspections, Inspection, Service, Non-conformities, Actions and Read Me. The register has 200 empty rows per subject tab and 14 metrics showing, among other things, registered pressure vessels, Class A/B according to entered data, planned, ordered and performed inspections, inspections with an actual report and registered approval, open non-conformities and verified actions. The workbook contains no macros or test data.
How the document package is used
- Inventory each device with a unique designation, type, marking, location and manufacturer documentation. Do not enter Class A/B without documented basis.
- Investigate which requirements are applicable according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations. For Class A or B, special inspections by an inspection authority may be required; consider exceptions and classification parameters.
- Register the inspection authority and actual report reference. The expiry month is retrieved from the relevant inspection report and regulatory basis – not from a general template placeholder.
- Document secure observations, service order and actually performed work as separate steps.
- Follow deficiencies to action, possible re-inspection and verified closure. Respect inspection conditions and limitations of use.
Swedish law – inspection of pressurized equipment
The Swedish Work Environment Authority's AFS 2023:11 as amended regulates work equipment and the use of pressurized equipment. Chapter 9 contains provisions on the classification of, among other things, pressure vessels; chapters 10 and Annex 7 deal with the inspection of pressurized equipment. Inspection class, exceptions and whether the equipment is subject to special obligations depend on actual technical facts and applicable regulations.
Inspection authorities may need to perform an initial inspection, recurring inspection or audit inspection depending on the circumstances. A requested inspection occasion is not a performed inspection, and an internally marked status does not change the inspection authority's report or the possibility of legally using the equipment.
Important safety limitation: No instructions for pressurizing, proof testing, opening, emptying, dismantling or adjusting safety valves are included. This package is not a prescribed classification calculation, a technical inspection certificate or a guarantee that operation is permitted. Competent personnel and an authorized inspection authority are engaged where necessary.
Frequently Asked Questions
Must all expansion vessels be inspected by an inspection authority?
No, not solely because they are expansion vessels. The inspection obligation depends on type, class, technical parameters, applicable exceptions and the regulations. Do not classify without actual documentation.
How do you know if a pressure vessel belongs to Class A or B?
The class assessment requires relevant technical data and the application of the tables in AFS 2023:11 Chapter 9, including exceptions. The templates have fields to refer to such basis but do not calculate the class itself.
How often must pressure vessels be inspected?
Interval and expiry month are governed by the applicable regulations and, where applicable, the inspection authority's assessment. The template does not specify a universal annual deadline or its own recommended inspection time.
Is a filled-in report an approval?
No. A Word report or an Excel status does not replace the inspection authority's report, decision, special terms of use or technical inspection.
Can I document safety valves?
Yes, through component ID and reference to actual service records. The templates contain no instructions for intervention, adjustment or testing of safety equipment.
Does the package work in Excel without macros?
Yes. The spreadsheet uses standard formulas and status selections. It contains no macros and performs no technical safety assessments.
Are the PDF files electronically fillable?
The PDF files are searchable and printable but are not promised as interactive forms. Word is editable and Excel is intended for ongoing register management.
What languages are included?
The five work templates and the Swedish guide are in Swedish. A separate English User Guide is included.
