Excel – actual functions and limitations
The tabs are Dashboard, Cases, Items, Notices, Evidence, Inventory Meeting, Submission, Control, and Read Me. The Dashboard shows the number of registered items, totals the entered assets and liabilities, and displays an arithmetic difference. The workbook does not determine inheritance shares, legal validity, rights to property, or registration. Deadlines must be assessed and checked manually.
How to use the documents
- Check whether a new asset, liability, or relevant error justifies an addition, and document the date of discovery.
- Obtain the previous inventory, supporting documentation, and relevant persons.
- Convene everyone who needs to be convened in good time and secure proof of notice.
- Hold a new inventory meeting with the inventory preparer's confirmation and certification by two inventory preparers.
- Check the official form SKV 4578 and submit it to the Swedish Tax Agency within the applicable time. Monitor the registration separately.
Important legal matters – Swedish law
According to Chapter 20, Section 10 of the Swedish Inheritance Code, a supplementary inventory for a new asset, liability, or other relevant error must normally be drawn up within one month of discovery. According to Chapter 20, Sections 8 and 10, a one-month deadline for submission normally applies after the inventory is drawn up. A special three-month deadline exists in the specific case of a surviving cohabitant's request for debt coverage; the package does not automate this special rule.
