Excel tool for quality inspections and follow-up
- Overview: number of inspection points, completed inspections, reported non-conformities, open actions, delays, and incorrect references.
- Requirement Register: 80 rows with unique requirement IDs, requirement sources, versions, acceptance criteria, and requirement owners.
- Inspection Plan: 100 rows with inspection ID, requirement ID, method, sample/frequency, responsible person, and inspection status.
- Inspection Log: 160 rows for actual tests and inspections performed, as well as measurement results and evidence references.
- Non-conformities: 85 rows with non-conformity ID, affected object, requirement reference, immediate containment, and disposition.
- Actions: 100 rows for corrective actions, deadlines, verification, and delay indicator.
- Settings and instructions: project details, version control, and concrete work steps.
Formulas check, among other things, whether an inspection point refers to a registered requirement, whether a log row has a valid inspection ID, and how many open non-conformities or actions exist. An empty workbook starts with zero activities and no false non-conformities.
How to use the quality plan
- Identify the assignment, client, delivery object, and current requirement specification.
- Gather relevant contracts, drawings, standards, procedures, and applicable industry requirements; specify current versions.
- Establish measurable quality goals and concrete acceptance criteria, as well as who performs, reviews, and approves each step.
- Register unique requirement IDs in Excel and create inspection points with method, frequency, responsibility, and any hold points.
- Register actual inspection results in the Inspection Log and link to records, measurement files, and other evidence.
- Document any non-conformities, ensure authorized disposition, and follow up on corrective actions until a verified result is achieved.
- Review final documentation and have an authorized role make a separate delivery or release decision. Archive version history and results.
Quality plan according to ISO 10005 guidance – what does it mean?
SS-ISO 10005:2018 is the Swedish standard providing guidance for quality plans. According to SIS and ISO, it applies to quality plans for processes, products, services, projects, and contracts, and can also be used by companies without ISO 9001 certification. The standard provides guidance – it does not prescribe general requirements. This template package is not a copy of the standard, does not contain the standard text, and does not imply that your company meets ISO 9001 or 10005.
Certain businesses have separate statutory inspection plans, test methods, regulations, and documentation requirements. This general quality plan package does not, for example, replace building permit-related inspection plans under the Swedish Planning and Building Act (PBL), food safety HACCP documentation, or product-specific safety requirements. Check contracts, applicable legislation, and requirements for testing or independent review before use.

Frequently asked questions
What is a quality plan?
A project-specific or assignment-specific description of quality requirements, responsibilities, inspection points, documentation, and how results should be reviewed before delivery.
Is the quality plan ISO 9001 certified?
No. The document package is an independent working tool. No certification or assessment of your quality management system is included.
Can I use the quality plan for service projects and manufacturing?
Yes, the template is generic and can be adapted to the requirements for services, processes, manufacturing, or projects. Special quality or legal requirements must be added where applicable.
Do I get an inspection and test program?
Yes. The package contains a separate Inspection and Test Plan in Word/PDF as well as an Excel register with inspection points, methods, frequency, and responsibilities.
Can Excel register non-conformities and actions?
Yes, non-conformities and corrective actions can be entered in separate registers and linked by ID to performed inspections. Decisions and verification must still be carried out by humans.
Is this the same product as Internal Audit ISO 9001 or Self-Inspection Construction?
No. An internal audit reviews a management system, while this product plans quality requirements and inspection activities for a specific assignment. Self-Inspection Construction is more industry-specific.
Are English documents included?
Yes, a supplementary English working form and a short English guide. The entire Swedish package is not translated.
How do I receive the files?
As a digital ZIP package with a total of 13 files. For automatic delivery after purchase, the ZIP file must be verified and linked to the active variant in Shopify Digital Products.
