The Annual Leave Act and personal data
The Annual Leave Act (1977:480) specifies, among other things, a standard right to 25 days of holiday, the baseline for the holiday year, obligations regarding holiday scheduling, and provisions regarding notice and main holiday periods. According to Section 12, the baseline is at least four consecutive weeks during June–August unless otherwise agreed, with exceptions as provided by law. Scheduling may also be affected by collective agreements, negotiations, and individual circumstances.
Information regarding employees' holidays and other leave is personal data. Do not register diagnoses or sensitive health information in a generally accessible planning file. Secure the document, restrict access, and determine necessary retention periods.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use it for 2027 immediately?
Yes. The Excel workbook's daily summary and adjustable holiday list refer to the 2027 calendar year.
Does the file calculate how many holiday days someone is entitled to?
No. It shows a planning template for weekdays, not legal holiday calculation, net holiday, or holiday pay.
Does the template work for shift work and part-time employment?
The application form can be adapted. However, the Excel calculation should not be used as a correct working time or net holiday calculation for shifts or intermittent work.
Is an English version included?
Yes. The form includes an English reference translation and the guide includes an English summary. The Excel workbook is in Swedish and adapted to Swedish conditions.
Do I need software?
Excel/Office or compatible alternatives are required for editing. The PDF can be read and printed separately. For full compatibility with formulas, Microsoft Excel is recommended.
Are the files completed legal decisions?
No. They are editable work templates. An authorized employer must decide, verify applicable rules, and document the correct information.
