About this template
Construction Schedule & Production Planning 2026/2027 – master schedule, six-week plan, and Excel Gantt
Plan and track construction projects with a construction schedule in Word, PDF, and Excel that provides control over work tasks, phases, staffing, deliveries, milestones, and disruptions. The document package is tailored for Swedish construction and civil engineering projects where clients, contractors, construction managers, and project managers require clear production plans and rolling six-week schedules.
The package includes 15 files: 7 DOCX, 7 searchable PDFs, and 1 Excel workbook with nine tabs. The Excel file contains a 12-week Gantt view that color-codes planned periods based on the activity's actual entered start and end dates, as well as a dashboard for key performance indicators. Five Swedish master templates, a Swedish user guide, and an English User Guide are included. A one-time digital purchase – no shipping or subscription.
The Swedish Work Environment Authority's AFS 2023:3, Chapter 2, Sections 5–6 mandates realistic time planning and follow-up for the client. Chapter 3, Section 5, and Chapter 4, Sections 5–6 regulate time planning and coordination responsibilities for BAS-P and BAS-U, respectively, where applicable. A schedule must be designed according to real work environment risks, dependencies, and project-specific conditions. The templates are self-produced work aids, not government-approved safety or time plans.

03. Excel with dashboard and 12-week Gantt
Overview · Master Schedule · Weekly Plan · Resources · Milestones · Obstacles · Decisions · Versions · Read me.
Enter a Monday in cell B3 on the Master Schedule tab, then add unique activity IDs and real planned start and end dates. The Gantt area will then display the planned periods on a 12-week scale. The dashboard compiles nine key indicators: activities, ongoing and delayed tasks, weekly items, planned hours, achieved and total milestones, open obstacles, and decision items.
Excel also records differences between planned and actual end dates, resource hours, and milestones once the necessary information has been entered. Empty registers show zero and do not contain any dummy activities. A Gantt bar or an entered decision ID is not proof that the schedule is safe or contractually approved.
How to use the construction schedule – step by step
- Determine contract prerequisites. Read the signed construction contract, administrative regulations (AF), agreed partial phases, contract dates, and decision-making authorities. Check if AB 04 or ABT 06 have been explicitly agreed upon.
- Create master schedule. Enter project, main tasks, phases, realistic times, and dependencies. Consider availability of work teams, drawings, deliveries, and safe methods.
- Coordinate work environment risks. BAS-P and BAS-U shall be involved where applicable according to AFS 2023:3 so that work tasks do not collide in a risky manner.
- Roll the six-week plan. Concretize work, zones, prerequisites for start, delivery windows, work preparations, staffing, and critical decisions.
- Follow up on milestones, hours, and obstacles. Register actual dates, deviations, responsible parties, causes, and documented evidence.
- Handle plan changes correctly. Distinguish between operational forecasts, work environment adjustments, and formal contract changes or notifications of obstruction. Save version history and separate contract evidence.
- Distribute the latest version. Check that the plan, work environment plan, and necessary protective measures are coordinated and that all involved parties receive the correct version.
Construction schedule, AFS 2023:3, and construction contracts
AFS 2023:3 covers, among other things, time planning to prevent ill health and accidents. According to Chapter 2, Sections 5–6, the client shall promote a realistic overall schedule and follow it up from a work environment perspective. Provisions regarding BAS-P and BAS-U apply with further conditions and exceptions, for example when several actors are to be coordinated. A Gantt template does not replace an actual risk assessment, work preparation, or statutory work environment plan where required.
AB 04 and ABT 06 are standard contracts, not laws. They only apply if they have been incorporated into a specific contract. Any right to an extension of time or compensation, notification deadlines, and formal requirements must be evaluated according to the contract and actual circumstances. Even if the project team moves activities in Excel, it is not automatically an approved new contract time and is not necessarily a formally valid notification of obstruction.
The purchase provides empty, editable original documents. It does not include a finished project-specific safety assessment, CPM/critical path calculation, official Gantt project from MS Project, contract approval, or authority decisions. The user must enter real times, resources, dependencies, and requirements for the work environment and documentation.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Excel as a simple construction schedule with Gantt?
Yes. In the master schedule, enter a Monday for the first visible week, as well as an activity's start and end date. The weeks are then highlighted with color. The Gantt area shows 12 weeks at a time and does not automatically calculate a critical path (CPM).
Is a six-week plan included?
Yes, both as a separate Word/PDF template and as a weekly planning tab in Excel.
Is this schedule legally binding?
Not automatically. Legal effect is influenced by the project's construction contract, how the plan has been established, authority, and any formal requirements.
What happens when the Excel file is empty?
All nine key indicators in the dashboard show 0, and no Gantt activity is displayed. No sample data that could be confused with a real project is included.
Is a work environment plan or a ready-made notification of obstruction included?
No. This package documents operational planning and disruptions. The work environment plan, as well as any formal notifications of obstruction and other written notices, need to be handled according to their own rules and contractual terms.
Are the templates in English?
The master templates are in Swedish. A separate English User Guide is included in both Word and PDF.
